Conway Daily Sun – King Pine Ski Area announces the Bob Hoyt Memorial Slalom

King Pine Ski Area and the King Pine Race Team are proud to announce the Bob Hoyt Memorial Slalom Race, honoring the late longtime general manager of King Pine and a dedicated champion of youth skiing and local racing. The event will take place Saturday, Jan. 11, celebrating Hoyt’s enduring legacy on the mountain he helped shape for more than four decades.

Hoyt., who passed away in 2020, was a lifelong ski enthusiast. A former member of the Kennett Ski Team, he was known for his
fearless spirit, natural ability and joy for speed, later embracing snowboarding with the same enthusiasm.

“Bob found true happiness in watching young skiers build confidence and fall in love with the sport,” said Stephanie Hoyt. “This race is a way to honor who he was, what he gave to King Pine, and what he believed skiing could do for families and the community.”
